15. Lea Wolff or Wolfe, born December 08, 1772.
Notes for Samuel Lilienfeld:
A German genealogist, Alexander Fulling, whose address in 1995 was Henning Schroder Gen-ealogy, P.O. Box 100822, 5270
Gummersbach, West Germany; was hired by Bettina O'Neil (RIN 0133) to do research on the Lilienfeld and Zeckendorf families and
other families related to those two. The data in these files on the earliest members of the Lilienfeld family are primarily
from Fulling's family history materials sent to Bettina O'Neil.
BIRTH: Samuel Lilienfeld (RIN 0401) was the son of Levi Lilienfeld (RIN 0406) and the father of Levi Lilienfeld (RIN 0422).
The record of his birth date, but not the location, was found in "Family Book of the `Amt Hannover'", on p. 90. He was born 4
Feb 1769. He was probably born in Kirchrode, Germany.
DEATH: Samuel Lilienfeld (RIN 0401) died 4 Feb 1849 in Linden, Germany. From "Burial of Hannover, Germany (#45)". His age at
death is given as 87, 9 mos. His death date is given as 4 Feb 1849 at Linden, Germany on the same page as his birth as
mentioned above. Subtracting 87 years and 9 months from his death date puts his birth data at 4 May 1761, which does not
agree with the birth and death data, above. His residence at death is given as Kirchrode. The cause of death was
Altersschwache (decline of life). Burial is entered as `Hannover, auf dem hies, Friedhofe.'
OCCUPATION: Samuel Lilienfeld (RIN 0401) was a Trodler (dealer in second-hand goods) according to the reference mentioned
under birth, above. In the reference for his death, above, his profession is given as Handelsmann (trader).
In the reference for the 1842 Census, same page of same book as for his birth, above, his profession is given as Trodler
(dealer in second-hand goods).
MARRIAGE: Samuel Lilienfeld's (RIN 0401) marriage is given as to `Lea nee Wolff or Wolfe', in the same reference, above, as his
birth. His wife's RIN is 0402. Following her name is `from Poole, b. Dec. 8, 1772'. It is believed that Poole is a
misspelling of Polle, a small town on the Weser River, about 22 kilometers south of Hameln in Lower Saxony, Germany.
Notes for Lea Wolff or Wolfe:
A German genealogist, Alexander Fulling, whose address in 1995 was Henning Schroder Gen-ealogy, P.O. Box 100822, 5270
Gummersbach, West Germany; was hired by Bettina O'Neil (RIN 0133) to do research on the Lilienfeld and Zeckendorf and related
families. The data in these files on the earliest members of the Lilienfeld families are primarily from Fulling's family
history materials sent to Bettina.
RESIDENCE: Lea Wolff, (RIN 0402), was from Poole (sp?), Germany, according to information in the "Family Tree of Samuel and Lea
Wolff Lilienfeld" that was prepared by Alexander Fulling, a German genealogist employed by Mrs. Bettina Lyons of Tucson,
Arizona.
RESIDENCE: A search for `Poole', Germany, in the general area of Hannover, Lower Saxony found a town named Polle, in the The
Times Atlas of the World, Ninth Comprehensive Edition, printed in 1994 by Bartholomew & Times Books, London. Polle is located
22 kms south of Hameln on the Weser River. This may be the town that Lea Wolff was from, rather than `Poole',
which seems more like the name of an English town than a German one.
Children of Samuel Lilienfeld and Lea Wolff or Wolfe are:
i. Betti or Betty Lilienfeld, died January 1873 in Cassel, Hesse, Germany; married Jacob Spiegelberg.
Notes for Betti or Betty Lilienfeld:

63, at coordinates L8) in The Times Atlas of the World, Ninth Comprehensive Edition, Copyright 1994, Bartholomew & Times
Books, London. The gazetteer section of the above Atlas gives latitude and longitude of Linden, Niedersachsen, Germany as
52.22 N and 9.42 E. A close examination of the above map does not disclose Linden's location, however.
